LEHTMOJOE

Tuesday, October 21, 2008

Here’s a thumpy filtered sweeper from LEHTMOJOE. One of his mates described it as SebastiAn meets Public and I won’t disagree. The track features vocal stabs that skip with the beat, slow acid-like modulation and a kick drum that keeps the tune in perpetual motion.

MP3: LehtMoJoe - Tom Petty

I’m not exactly sure where the Tom Petty reference comes (perhaps from the vocal sample?). This is one tune from the Dallas native’s forthcoming album.

I think he is saying “tom petty” in the track, kinda hard to pick out. Very hot, very hot indeed.

That makes sense. I still can’t really pick it out. ha.

The samples he’s using are from a few different Pilot songs, most notably “Penny in my Pocket”, but the spliced samples sound like “Tom Petty’s got VD.”
