&ME

Starting the evening off with some weird syntax and tech-haus, appropriately from Germany courtesy of the Berlin label KEINEMUSIK.

When I was younger I had a penchant for experimental music. While minimal techno doesn’t necessarily fall into the spectrum of experimental, I found its artistic merit running parallel to abstract soundscapes and audio installations. Plus dubbed out tech-haus and minimal techno was the best way for me to explore dancefloors.

Blogs don’t seem to pick up much in terms of minimal. I’m happy to fill that gap because it’s a genre that played a massive role in the development of dance music. Syntax obsessed &ME has been somewhat transparent. Instead of being narcissistic like most of his producing colleagues, he preferred to hide behind artists like DJ Hell or Terranova as their ghost- or co-producer. Now after putting out his first solo-single on Keinemusik, these days are finally over. He took some time to figure out his own style – blending Techno and Housemusic – filling dark spaces with precision and round shapes.
