BURNS + WHITE LIES

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

Two different numbers here courtesy of 21:12 (aka LINUS LOVES). He sent more work from BURNS who has to have some of the highest output of any producer / remixer / dj in 2009.

The first is a track you probably already know – definitive robotdisco in the likes of Burns’ latest single, extended for your long lasting dancing pleasure. (Or something for the jocksĀ  (that’s disc-jockees, mofo) to put on while they grab a drink.) The influences of this tune are more rooted in the big hair glam of 80s rock than 70s knee socks and rollerskates but it’ll make the ladies dance all the same.

MP3: Burns – Heartbeats (extended mix)

A few years ago in a chat I had with an iconic local jock, I asked him why he keeps playing the same music over and over. His reply was honest and he stated that he really likes the music from his teenage years. It brings a certain nostalgia and perhaps youthfulness he can’t find anywhere else. Well, the music from my teenage years was submerged in bass and sirens, which likely explains why I’ve had Burns’ remix of WHITE LIES on repeat. Now if only I could find a warehouse party.
