Haha, I thought for sure the writer meant LAZRTAG was "embarrassing a new age of DJs" by rocking Ableton live so hard and making them look bad.

I apologize for over looking my word selection in spell checker - and over all sloppy blogging.
It was met to read 'embracing a new age of DJing.' I myself am a digital dj and use ableton in my sets.
sorry for the confusion, and huge delay.

Even if you look at early Daft Punk, they weren't just spinning records, they had keyboards and controllers out live. Human Frequencies: We can't all do complicated stuff in our sets and no one here denies that it's difficult to just play records. I just see no reason not to welcome new twists on DJing.

Werd up Greg. Things are way different now compared to the early 90s when I first started raving. I love watching deejays play traditionally, especially with long progressive mixes. It was performance, and now people like LAZRtag, do something new. They were sick by the way. One of my favourite live shows this year.

The real embarrassment is acts like justice playing "live sets" with all of their equipment unplugged. What isn't embarrassing is people actually doing something interesting onstage. Especially for people who don't understand too much about DJing. I know many people who don't understand the art in a DJ set. I, as a DJ, understand how difficult it is, but for someone new to electronic music, it just looks like "playing records" and nothing more. That's the way it is. While I'm perfectly happy to watch a good DJ set, I'm equally happy to watch a live element.

You think what they're doing is embarrasing? Honestly, it's about time people do more than play records, which takes an incredible amount of skill on it's own, but digital djing allows people to perform. It gives djs the opportunity to create something new in a live setting. It's the future. If you disagree, try telling it to Richie Hawtin.
