HOUSEWIVES
In the late 2006 Adeline Supreme and La Fleur teamed up to become the duo Housewives and to make the floor more dirty and wet than it’s ever been before.
The text above is the intro from some promo text about HOUSEWIVES. (Besides being grammatically awkward) normally, I’d say it’s way too cheesey to include anywhere, but for some reason, it’s suitable. Wait, that reason is clear – sex sells and in this case, it does it well.
I’m all for themes too, and it helps that Supreme and La Fleur commit to their identities. At one point the duo hosted nights revolving around Housewives-themes such as the kitchen or laundry room. They collaborated with art students who designed the club interiors, transforming each specific night into a hidden universe where guests were even invited for apple pie in the kitchen. Their efforts paid off – Housewives has twice been awarded for “Best Club”, in People Choice Awards 2007 and in the Scandinavian Music Convention 2008.
The kitchen kitch will only get you so far but let me tell you, Housewives’ dancefloor recipe spins my egg beater. They pound with deep kick drums paired with some dirty synth stabs which is balanced with a clean chord progression that’s seemingly endless.
