I was lucky enough to see PLUMP DJs when I lived in Brighton in 2003. That night lives on as one of my top five shows, ever.

Lee Rous and Andy Gardner have been around for more than a hot minute and they’re credited for helping to create breakbeat as we know it now, but they haven’t stopped there. They’ve released four long players and a shit-tonne of singles and remixes. Their latest effort sees the duo forming their own label, GRAND HOTEL. “Boomer” builds slowly but deliversĀ a scuzzy bassline over a tight break when the track drops. Preview the two tracks on the singleĀ using the SoundCloud player below, then head to somewhere like beatport for the full meal.
