Manalogue is pretty excited to be part of this event. It’s going to be a bit of a gong show (not in a bad way) considering everyone involved. First, the headliners, a three-piece from Minneapolis who call themselves RETROSPECS. Some savvy media person thinks they’re a hybrid between Daft Punk and The Black Keys. I’m not sure I’d agree necessarily but the one thing I’ll say is they’re amazing live. Check out their bandcamp page and grab their EP, Confident & Self Aware, for free.

I’m excited to play with BEAUCHAMP again too. That guy has his midi fingers on the pulse of everything good. Pour example (my French doesn’t sound nearly as good as Mike B’s latest nom de plume) he sent over this demo last week. It’s rich and deep and pleasurable.

JAMALL KNIGHT, not only has one of the best monikers of all time, he’s one of the best djs in this city (which is absolutely saturated with them by the way). It’s the first time I’ve played with him to boot. Weeeeeeee!

Rounding out the lineup, DJ’Zahore (who I know nothing about but that’s going to change next week); Retrospecs’ touring DJ Bass Cadet; and the host of the evening, Sylvie Manaigre who’s apparently Winnipeg’s sexiest comedian. Then there’s THE SHAKE, which is me and and my homie LOTEK. We’ve been playing together for a few years and we don’t really have a particular style cuz we play it all, except trance! For this night, I imagine we’ll keep things somewhere in the realms of house and robotdisco.
