And we have lift off! ROCK IT SCIENCE LABORATORIES transcends intergalactic territory with their newest release “Tonight” by EDDIE HOEY. With heavy drums, never-ending rises and a sample that will take you back, this song is just begging to be let loose. Remixesfeature a big room take courtesy of Eric Sharp, an uplifting piano mix by Nacey, a dubstep reinterpretation from Subvader and a deep, hypnotic mix from Unders.
The global music community mourns the loss of an inspirational singer, LOLEATTA HOLLOWAY. Her influence to disco was immeasurable, thus her impact to house music and the broad-scale dancefloors it formed is completely astounding.
In honor of her recent passing, just.one.duran have decided to release their remake single of Loleatta Holloway’s classic collaboration with Dan Hartman, Relight My Fire, as a free download. The tune was supposed to be featured on their upcoming self-titled EP but instead the track has been offered as a free download to fans in her honor. Loleatta will be remembered both for her decades of service to the international music industry and her lasting connection with Chicago.
FUKKK OFF is back with what we think is one of the most buzz-worthy remix packages to hit shelves in a hot minute. Out on COCO MACHETE RECORDS, Brooklyn’s indie disco darlings BODY LANGUAGE tweaks out an acid-tinged late night stomp that works as well in warehouses as it does in the danceclubs downtown.
Let’s be honest here, as soon as I heard the original last fall I thought the tune should be remixed by ZODIAC CARTEL. This remix is like a dream come true. General Zod commands the heavyweight manifesto into a tech-funk flurry.
It’s been a while since we’ve heard from NAPT but that doesn’t mean the duo is taking it easy. Among other things they’re starting up their own label RED SUGAR RECORDS. (I guess we don’t have an active link yet.)
This tune however comes from BREAKBEAT KAOS in anticipation of the collab with BROOKES BROTHERS which will drop in April. NAPT’s remix of “Beautiful” bounces with N-Funk – their interpolation of breaks and electro and for this version the vocals have been stripped to a minimum.
I’m sure you’ve heard by now that JUSTICE is back with a new single. “Civilization” is released on ED BANGER RECORDS and it looks as though Elektra has picked up a distribution deal as well. The new cut will be available on iTunes April 4th and other digital retailers April 11th.
Yowza. THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS‘ score for “Hanna” lives up to the hype we’re all hearing. It was released today and we have a stream of seven cuts from the record plus a trailer if you haven’t seen it yet.
