The bassline in this disco monster is so rich. Don’t even bother reading anymore just click here and get it.
For sure this is a disco tune, but it could work well anywhere, like say to lighten things up a bit in a bassline set, or anywhere in a midtempo breaks set, yadda yadda. I want to point out too, the bassline is pretty subtle, it’s soft low end hits you in the chode. Wiggle inducing, yep.
Australia’s SANGERS & RA second release on Westway is a fine example of the breaks. The booming kick drum and the sharp snares in the opening of the original cut are enough to blast out a bomb shelter. Germany’s FUNKANOMICS grinds an equally deep hole with their remix. Support is rounded out from KEITH MACKENZIE, TERRY HOOLIGAN and FILTHY REHAB with their bass-heavy interpretations.
“Too Hot, Too High” comes with its own video, shot at the incredible KaZantip festival in the Ukraine a couple of months ago.
“Too Hot, Too High” gets a beatport exclusive release until November 21st, when the EP will be available at other digital outlets.
Finally, here’s the free download. Sangers & Ra say they loved the catchy piano riff in Justice’s track “Audio, Video, Disco” so they cut it up and pounded it out.
How legendary is the Legendary Long Weekend series?
Well, Vancouver promotion crew Intimate Productions have been throwing the first rate bashes for 8 years. And while they usually try to showcase local Vancouver DJs and artists, they’re occasionally tempted with truly international acts they can’t refuse. Some of the highlights from past LLW parties include Fred Falke, Lifelike, Lawn Chair Generals, Terry Francis and Llorca.
This Thursday, Nov.10th the party is LAST CALL FOR 2011 and is hosted at the spectacular Waldorf Hotel which is easily the best venue I’ve been too since moving here in July. It allows for 4 separate rooms with different vibes in each. Here’s rundown of what each room with be offering this Thurday:
CABARET (Nu Disco / French House) CYCLIST (That’s me!) • LABERGE
TIKI BAR (Whatever / Mash-Up) NEON STEVE • ABASI vs. Glyn • VINNIE THE SQUID
HIDEAWAY (Bass Culture / Dubstep) MICHAEL RED • SELF EVIDENT • BEVVY SWIFT
NUBA LOUNGE (Underground House) MARLON J ENGLISH • ROB RIZK • RICCO
Can’t find any mixes from these guys but I’m sure they’ll be just as awesome! :)
Manchester’s busiest production and DJ duo, HEAVYFEET, deliver the latest seasonal mixtape. The pair are known for their diversity across the low-end spectrum, so as expected there’s a bass-focused mix of house, garage, and breaks.

About a week ago, HeavyFeet let los their remix of I Still Love You, the knockout tune by Swich and Andrea Martin. This mix is worth picking up.
Oh, and if you haven’t heard this, it’s a must-have for any night. Check out HeavyFeet on beatport.
I suppose the 80′s throwback is a permanent part of the musical landscape even though we’ve entered fully into 90′s relapse already (I’m just waiting for a quality C & C Music Factory reproduction!)… I’m definitely not complaining. Coming out of Chicago, Ghosthouse seem to take pride in being Chromeo’s star students. Songs like Private Dancer and 9.2.5 could very easily be mistaken as Chromeo tunes…except with Robert Palmer singing. However the duo breaks out of the electro pop form and show a funkier side with tunes like Analog Man and Crazy in Love… D Train would be proud. Good tunage…. grab the full length album for FREE on their bandcamp page:

To be expected, the video is NSFW.
We won’t leave you hangin either. Here’s a couple downloads from the Dutch lad.
