It could be me getting old, but I find a lot of what Borgore does targets the lowest common denomintor, some of it aims even lower.

Regardless, the dood has a massive following which positions him to help expose some talented producers. The Buygore label does a pretty good job of this and the latest compilation is case in point (free download here). SHIFT KEY shouldn’t need any introductions those familiar with bass music. With his close ties to the Buygore label, expect to hear a lot from the North Londoner in 2013.

Not being a huge fan of Lil Jon, I was skeptical of Shift Key’s re-rub from the free comp. Turns out, it’s hard not to put my head down and feel this one. The brass is flared and amplified, then complimented with a bassline so menacing it could frighten Freddie.
