Sky Ferreira’s debut single ‘One’ has been winning fans left, right and centre – not least Radio One who last week added her to their playlist. She did a rather entertaining interview with R1’s Tom Deacon for his 5.19 show where she talked about Katy Perry, Russell Brand, Jedward, Robert Pattinson and how she was discovered on myspace.

There’s been a bit of hype behind this already and we’re happy to get the nod to share.

Obviously, this is the one everyone wants to hear. It sounds like MSTRKRFT plain and simple, full of squelchy electro and guitar-like synth tweaked to dance floor perfection.

The delay on this track is quite nice but I wish the track itself would deliver more of a punch. RYE RYE, we wanna go bang!

In my opinion, this is the best produced remix of the bunch. Leave it to DAN THE AUTOMATOR for doing so. Also, this remix gets props for keeping the original flavour from the theme.

I think I worked with a SARAH MCLEOD at Pizza Hut back in the day. A sexy one from three Canadian heavy weights remixing a Aussie songstress. You got to wonder what we in Canada are doing wrong when an aussie can put out a radio edit of such a sick tune. I can only assume this is getting some radio play, have you heard JJJ? It blows CBC out of the water (no offense Gion). I’m posting the soundclouds of all these tunes, and a download link to the John Roman extended remix.

Sled Island day one was immense! I am beat and broken. Happy Canada Day from me to you! If you’re in Calgary, go check out some bands… if you aren’t then go check some out anyways! Hazel, the feisty female rapper from Fukkk Offf’s ‘More Than Friends’, is back with ‘In Da Club’
under the shimmering guise of ENTYCE to make your ‘body move to the bass and the beat.’ This
time out it’s a straight non stop electro-disco workout courtesy of COCO MACHETE‘s own Fukkk
Offf on the remix. Driving directly at summer classic status this release is a nice twist and turn
away from the darker sounds of winter.

I was pretty pumped to see FUKKK OFFF on remix duty and was pleasantly surprised that the cut was more disco than banger with more club parts than I’m used to. It’s true. It’s a tune that should get the ladies swingin, which as any DJ would tell you, is the key ingredient to a successful night.
