So, some mates and I are throwing our second swing party and it’s going down this Saturday. The first one (last November) was easily the most rammed, all-locals show I’ve seen and was definitely one of the best shows I’ve played, let alone partied at. We’re hoping the excitement continues, obviously.
You can grab the details in the poster above but if you need more check the facebook event here.
Here’s a big tune from new-comer, ONLY BOOTS. The ethereal strings and keys contrast the glitchy bassline and a kick drum Ralph Macchio would be scared of. Check the stream below and grab the free download.

For their release on Jungle Cakes, ED SOLO teamed up with the maestro of all things funky, STICKYBUDS for a two-track EP for a blunt celebration of weed culture. Of course it comes out on 4/20.
First up “Smoke The Weed” combines super phat rolling basslines, ragga style stabs and atmospherics, and a wicked steppy break. The two join forces again for the second track, Joker Smoker, which is a sublime slice of funky, jazzy business. It’s all there, stompin’ beats, ragga/dub elements, big chunky bass, incredibly catchy horns and “Joker Smoker” vocals on the hook and they come together beautifully to produce an absolute winner of a tune all round.
Three of the tunes are offered as exclusives from OWSLA’s drip.fm service, which is well worth it, if you’re really into the label. For $12 per month, the NEST offers every OWLSA tune 24 hours before it’s officially released.
A super deluxe release from LA’s jOBOT has us shaking ourselves silly. The four-track EP, on Muti Music, spans tempos and genres, from chilled braindance to glitch hop to something bordering drum and bass. The release is loosely held together with a glitch theme and bass – it’s crunchy and sexy and melodic and it’ll get you moving.
