EMPRESARIOS

Hailing from the Washington DC area, the EMPRESARIOS mix diverse cultures and sounds together. As one could imagine by the band’s name, there’s some obvious Latin influences at play. It’s evident in “Bestia Remixed” EP.

They enlist four top producers for some blazing remixes on their latest single. First up is J.Boogie conjuring up a deep digital cumbia reworking of Cumbia Salvaje, the tempo is up and the bass is booming!

♥♥♥ The man of the moment, BOBBY C SOUND TV, created a ghetto funk remix of Bailando that is just unstoppable. This is the standout of the bunch. ♥♥♥

Dutch producer Solo Moderna has turned Sentimiento into a one-of-a-kind tropical bass anthem from another planet.

Rounding out the EP is Stereo 77′s ‘Ricanstruction’ of Bestia, turning it into bass-heavy Latin house number that oozes that Miami vibe. It just so happens this tune is available for free download too.

If you can’t handle the vocals, instrumental versions are also available. Check it from iTunes or beatport.

JESS & CRABBE PRESENT BAZZERK

Moombahton is something I’m ready to admit that I totally don’t understand. I thought the same thing of kuduro. I’m pretty sure the lack of general appreciation I have for the two genres is because I’m white. What? I’m kidding. For real though, I imagine both genres sound much better played loudly, in a club, preferably with several bouquets of  sweaty ladies blooming their pants off.

So, when a few tracks from a compilation curated by JESS & CRABBE came our way I let my mind wander a bit and I took myself into what could be a steaming kuduro basement club. I adjusted my monitors, turned the volume up, and noodled with the EQ when I played these…

DJ Wilson – Doutro Mundo by Low Life Inc

ZazaTwins – Instru Coupe Decale by Low Life Inc

Diamond Bass – Stereotype (Global Bass version) by Low Life Inc

You know what? I kinda liked it.

SCHLACHTHOFBRONX

schlachthofbronx

More love from Germany!

Besides some really great graphics, the story behind this three-piece states that they formed from a spontaneous meeting in parking lot where a commitment to bassmusic was developed out of various band experiences, soundsystem and dj culture. SCHLACHTHOFBRONX is said to have its home in Munich in an unpleasant industrial area between a slaughterhouse and an abandoned playground inhabited by drug addicts. Their music reflects the physical environment. It’s heavy and speaks for itself.
