Call me a starry-eyed-son-of-a-bitch, but I’m already looking forward to summer. There are some big things in the mix that our faithful blog readers will be first in line for, so stock up on beach towels, sunscreen and swim suits, because we’re going to have an awesome time here in Canada.
An awesome bloke named DIGITS (who I blogged about before) put together a nice mix and sent it my way, I approve 100% and decided to post it up. Contained is a decent amount of icy synth pop, some psychpop and some slow jams. Valentines day is right around the corner, I’m suggesting using this as the soundtrack. BONUS is the SCHAATZ remix of ‘You’re Going To Age’. Check out their myspace or SOUNDCLOUD for more French disco-dreampop!!!!

As some of you may (or may not) know, I’ve been trying my hands at this “DJ” thing for the last 13 or so years. Once and a while, I like to share some of my favourite tunes, old and new, with the populous at large.
This mix is more on the moody side of the techno spectrum. It starts out minimal elektro and morphs into some heavier techno stompers.

Uh, I finally recorded a mix. It’s been a year since I’ve done one successfully. I tried in December and January with while holding my son but they didn’t go so well.
Funny though, I really wanted to make a mix of summer indie tunes but nothing came together the way I wanted it to. In the end, I recording a wobbly electro something. It’s not perfect but it’s still pretty fun.

Mixes don’t normally appear on these pages simply because there are too many individual tunes and remixes to post. That and everyone and their dog has a mix to flog. Seriously. Here’s one exception, only because PRETTY GIRLS & LASERS have some bootleg of “Heat It Up” by WEE PAPA GIRL RAPPERS that I’ve never heard before. Every day I find myself quoting this tune to describe a spectrum of situations – its relevance goes way beyond anything imaginable.

Annie Mac asked the BANG GANG DJs to put together a mini-mix for her show on BBC One. Here’s the result: 82 tracks in 5 minutes! Crazy.

I don’t normally post mixes, but here’s an exception. Glowing robot disco spanning 52 minutes from Toronto’s TMDP. The originality of the collection relieves the tired and endless bloghouse mixes from world domination. TMPD take their time to craft mixes so long they make supermodel legs look stubby.

A tonne of these came my way this week – here’s a smattering.
I have to start things off with my beat comrade Lotek. We lay down dirty rhythms every Friday night from 8-9 on our radio show THE SHAKE. You can hear it in Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada on 92.9 KICK FM or stream it online here.
