THEM JEANS unified the east and west. As a DJ and promoter in L.A. he’s thrown massive parties but is also affiliated with PLANT MUSIC, one of the best labels to sprout up over the last few years. Maybe that’s presumptuous to say, but you can’t disagree with his output.

About seven months ago, he dropped his remix of of MUNK‘s “Down in L.A.” which is rich with robotdisco hooks and a bassline so sweet you want to lick it off the floor. This one’s a mover, especially for the ladies. This week though, Plant released the smash single from Munich’s Munk (aka Mathias Modica). The track was released on GOMMA last year but Plant has a whole new set of remixes including Fantastadon, Them Jeans, Grand Theft and Dan-OH.

“The Crystal Axis” is the MIDNIGHT JUGGERNAUTS second album, their first since Dystopia launched the Australian trio into a vortex of global intrigue. For those who’ve arrived late, like me with this post, Andrew Szekeres, Vincent Vendetta and Daniel Stricker had pursued an organic course through multiple indie EPs, singles and retro-futurist videos before they found themselves hailed as de facto pioneers of a perceived new frontier of indie-dance circa 2007/08. The video at the to showcases all of the above.

Midnight Juggernauts on twitter

I don’t think this next tune (or the original) will be as iconic as “My Adidas” but it’s easily just as fun. “Checkin’ Out My Pumas” was released on THE LYTICS debut album last year. LEBEATO ground up the tune into a new electro number with a revving bassline and some vocoder at the top of the track. Unfortunately we can’t give this tune away yet, but watch for the announcement, word is, a download will be available soon.

I actually meant to post the next track a couple weeks ago. Manchester’s SUXX smears some electro squelch on his official remix of the first DeLooze single.

The four-piece outfit from Houston just threw us a pair of remixes and well, here they are, kinda. I’ll explain.

GLASNOST entered their TIGA remix as part of the Lolla Remix Throwdown and as such they can’t share it just yet. If you head over to the throwdown site you might be able to poach the track and if you do, make sure to cast your vote, preferably for this tune. In a world of bangers, this one stands out glimmering in robotdisco light.

Their remix of the LA ROUX track is also shiny, although if I’d have to say, it’s a bit more electro. The vocal chops are quite nice and contrast the overall warmth of the tune. Nice one.

Hazel, the feisty female rapper from Fukkk Offf’s ‘More Than Friends’, is back with ‘In Da Club’
under the shimmering guise of ENTYCE to make your ‘body move to the bass and the beat.’ This
time out it’s a straight non stop electro-disco workout courtesy of COCO MACHETE‘s own Fukkk
Offf on the remix. Driving directly at summer classic status this release is a nice twist and turn
away from the darker sounds of winter.

I was pretty pumped to see FUKKK OFFF on remix duty and was pleasantly surprised that the cut was more disco than banger with more club parts than I’m used to. It’s true. It’s a tune that should get the ladies swingin, which as any DJ would tell you, is the key ingredient to a successful night.

Here’s a slow robotdisco jam from CYCLIST. As it turns out, it’s the debut release from DUBLUM RECORDS and judging from their roster, this is a label to keep tabs on.

This track though, is rich with retro noodlings and saturated with a bassline that’s all too familiar. Borrowed or not, Cyclist stirs it in so thick its viscous delivery gets stuck in your head. I think those in the video think the same thing.

NEUS (New Experimental for Universal Sound) came together in 2007 in Corsica, France from the creative mind of Gael Guidicelli.

Call it robotdisco. minimal, emotronic, ambient, hard electro or call it whatever you like, NEUS’s versatility, accuracy and improvisation is what keeps his music fresh. Already having the support from SebastiAn and Busy P of Ed Banger Records, NEUS is on his way to be a big name.
