SANGERS & RA + CHEMICAL BROTHERS + DRAKE

Written by manalogue. Filed under bass, breaks, cancon, club, manalogue, remix, wobble. Tagged , , , . No comments.

Are you enjoying the resurgence of breaks as much as I am? Here’s the first original from SANGERS & RA, who drop bass more than your older sister drops her pants.

Sangers & Ra feat. MC SirReal – Nasty (Original Mix) [AVAILABLE NOW @ BEATPORT] by Sangers and Ra

Grab the single from beatport.

I thought I heard enough Drake to buy some champagne and spinny rims, but this tasty bootleg from Brisbane’s SANGERS & RA will let me embrace my inner wigga a little longer. Kidding of course, mostly because I’ve never been a wigga and this tune doesn’t focus on the vocals.

AC SLATER + CROOKERS + YELLE

Written by manalogue. Filed under bass, remix, wobble. Tagged , , , . No comments.

Trouble & Bass‘s AC SLATER has quickly become one of the most sought after remixers and producers with no sign of slowing down. Raised on 90′s Hip-Hop and nourished by old school rave, AC has cultivated these influences to give birth to his own style of music production. His latest is no different. He adds more bass than seemingly possible to the CROOKERS and YELLE colab.

N.A.S.A.

N.A.S.A.

North America/South America – or more commonly known as N.A.S.A. – is an ongoing creative collaboration between two lifelong music aficionados, Squeak E. Clean (Sam Spiegel) and DJ Zegon (Ze Gonzales), and their friends, friends of friends and musical heroes.

They were one of 10 acts to record their version of a cult classic track which represents the spirit of the people who’ve worn Doc Martin’s, the iconic British shoe, over the past 50 years. The project involved a collaboration of 10 directors to make videos for each of the tracks as well. The latest release is from N.A.S.A who cover Max Romeo’s “Chase The Devil.”

Some of you may be more familiar with The Prodigy’s version. Breakbeat heavyweight Deekline updated the tune recently as well.

CASE BY CASE + LEDOOM

Written by manalogue. Filed under electro, indie, remix, wobble. Tagged , , , , . No comments.

Case by Case - Everyone” width=

CASE BY CASE delights us with this moving and emotional story of love, passion, and discovery. With a background in indie bands, this pioneer shows his strengths in production, singing, and songwriting. Get lost with us in this drifting yet forceful ballad.

A slew of genre bending remixers come forth to mold and warp this beautiful original into some dance oriented creations. VELCRO CITY RECORDS artists like GORDON FREEMAN, LEDOOM, and DJ VANISH come heavy with very different directions and we are excited to introduce MOLEMAN with a smooth liquid rework.

Here though is the wobbly remix by LeDoom. At first I was a bit put off by the vocals, but the wobble takes care of that tout suite.

DILLON FRANCIS + DROP THE LIME + DR HOLLYWOOD

Written by manalogue. Filed under bass, dubstep, electro, house, remix, wobble. Tagged , , , , , . No comments.

Dillon Francis

DILLON FRANCIS‘ ode to the Pubahs has a step on the original track’s sexual euphemisms. Well actually, it strips the metaphors entirely but keeps enough of the original to make me feel a little nostalgic. It reminds me of the time I stole a 12″ white label of “Sandwiches” when I was doing contract work at a radio station in Edmonton, Alberta. I probably could have asked for it…the station would never play this record (I don’t even think they had turntables in the studios) so I figured I’d save everyone the trouble.

MP3: Dillon Francis feat Dirt Nasty – Sandwiches (Ode to the Pubahs mix)

When I was in university I ran into a friend from high school in a parking lot in my home town. He was in his Dodge Daytona listening to Celine Dion. I asked him why he was playing such garbage and he told me the album had a lot of bass. Now 15 years later I wonder if he likes dubstep. I doubt he knows what it is but you do so click below.

ELITE FORCE: NEW SINGLE & MIXTAPE

Written by manalogue. Filed under bass, breaks, electro, epic, maximal, mixtapes, rave, remix, wobble. Tagged , , , , , , . 1 Comment.

Several months back now, Elite Force ran a little competition on his facebook page asking for suggestions on new tracks to Revamp, with the winner grabbing one of the top-end  ‘Revamped’ packages from the Elite Force site and the winning entry came from Ivano Knight who suggested Midnight Juggernauts’ ‘Tombstone’. Well, grab the result below.

The latest single from ELITE FORCE, a collection of three remixes for “Law of Life” is a must-have for anyone looking for something to stomp to. Elite Force himself sums it up best as “battleweapon electro techno filth gnarly bass monster.” I think he forgot breaks, but maybe that’s being redundant.

Grab it from beatport.

He also released a new mixtape. Grab the tracklist after the jump.

Fever Ray x Piranha Piranha + Giant45 Mixes

Written by Bonnaventure. Filed under bass, breaks, cancon, club, drum n bass, dubstep, house, remix, wobble. Tagged , , , , , , , , , , . 1 Comment.

MR. GEOGRAPHY and DAN SOLO make PIRANHA PIRANHA. They make dubstep, dnb, and hail from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. You dig? Of course you do! I always blah blah blah about how great they are, and how shocked I am that dubstep and bass music has taken off in this town. On CJSW or in the clubs, a wobble or a n amen break is not such a shocking appearance. This remix mashes the moody slow-down of Fever Ray with the JUMP UP sound of Drum and Bass.

Fever Ray – If I Had A Heart (Piranha Piranha’s Grownup Jumpup Mix) (new link)

Enjoy and all that! Recently Dan Solo recorded a mix at GIANT 45 on 17th ave here in Calgary and shared it with the world…. and now it looks like it’s going to be a regular thing. A-mac hits up Vol. 2 with some tech-ier sounds. ENJOY!

SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO + BETH DITTO + FAR TOO LOUD

Written by manalogue. Filed under bass, breaks, dubstep, electro, remix, wobble. Tagged , , , . No comments.

Here’s another freebee from U&A RECORDINGS.

Delivering his take on SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO‘s brilliant “Cruel Intentions” feat. Beth Ditto, Oli Cash aka FAR TOO LOUD is back up in your face, blurring all the boundaries by mashing up breaks, UK funky, electro house & bassline into one seriously fresh bass heavy refix.

What I like best about this bootleg is surprising sonic assult. The track starts with some simple keys and vocals but at about a minute into the tune, Far Too Loud brings the thunder with a dubstep-influenced bassline. Considering who the remix is from, I suppose there’s not much of a surprise after all. This one’s a stomper so grab the tune from the widget below.

ELITE FORCE VS THE GOSSIP

Written by manalogue. Filed under bass, breaks, dubstep, electro, mashup, remix, wobble. Tagged , , , . No comments.
I’m telling you, the “Revamped” compilation from ELITE FORCE is hands down, one of the best releases of all time. Do yourself a favour and pick up all 15 tracks for a measly $12.99 (USD) on beatport or grab some deluxe packages from the Elite Force Store that includes some stellar and exclusive material. It doesn’t hurt that Elite Force has been around for a long time and is one of the most sincere individuals on the planet. He’s passionate about all of his endeavours. To prove it, here’s what he has to say about the project.
“I decided to embark on a whole new extension of the re-edit idea looking at creating a number of brand new tracks out of components taken from older tunes… proper mash-ups. Some were born out of simple live jams that evolved into finely tuned studio creations, whilst others were ground-up rebuilds where I was effectively writing new pieces of music using samples from other tracks. There was no fixed way of working and no sacred cows that went un-plundered.” [Elite Force]

He’s been kind enough to give away a tonne of freebees, and here’s another, this time he takes on THE GOSSIP with Beth Ditto’s vocals topping a re-arranged version of Elite Force’s own tech-funk classic “Engine” and a few cheeky snippets of Mr.Oizo thrown into the melting pot. Grab it from the widget below and make sure to check out the links that follow.
