The amazingly weird/fun/funky d’Eon is sharing his Ghosthack mixtape that he made for Vice Italy. Move your feet to some old ass breaks that segue nicely between something bubbling up from the underground and something that feels a little more familiar. Follow d’Eon on Twitter.
I’ve raved about these boys and their epic Modern Math night, and their solid crew of attractive and talented DJs (especially the super sexy Typist and Crimson.), and even posted a remix or two, so here is a little more. Straying from the current hype of what is now known as ‘Brostep’ (that didn’t take too long) and in to the much more entertaining and sexy sound of Funky, Piranha Piranha bring us a reason to move our feet.
Grab the tune from their soundcloud, or try mediafire
KNIIFEPRRTY was one of the first bands I blogged about for manalogue, so I was excited when they sent along their new single “STAY WILD” which they are selling via their Bandcamp page and can be previewed on soundcloud here:
Maybe drop a little coin for this if you dig it. Speaking of digging and being dug, my buddy and fellow Albertan KUMON PLAZA was recently featured on FORKCAST! Yeah boy! It feels like I know Drake or something… Go download the tune Final Boss, and check out this edit I did for an art opening mix CD of his tune Hans Kruger… Nothing too fancy, just shaving off 3 minutes to make it a little more of a pop-tune…
For all y’all wanting something with more kick to it, mr. BASSNECTAR sent over a MASSIVE ATTACK bootleg to enjoy the solstice by. I believe Bassnectar played this tune (or a version of it) when I saw him at Shambhala a few years back, but can’t say for sure due to my state of mind at the time…
Will someone get me some DJ gigs so I can play some JOHN ROMAN tunes to people? It’s no fun when it’s just me in my basement with my dog and some glowsticks. Roman is dropping a NEW MIXTAPEsoon, so please check these tunes, READ HIS BLOG, and all that stufffffffffffff……
You’ll remember my end of year post for 2009 saying that “Ready for this” was one of my favourite tunes. It still bangs, and it went off like a rocket at the party I DJ’d. Here is that said post, and check Roman’s blog in the coming days for the winner of the “Ready For This” remix competition.
I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more CRYSTAL CASTLES remixes as the days heat up, so why not just go ahead and share them? This one from CLOCKWORK rocking out from L.A, not being too serious and not being all kitschy either.
Until then, we have this new official remix of CRYSTAL CASTLES‘ super hyped tune Crime Wave by our new friend MIDNIGHT CONSPIRACY. Mighty nice of them to send it over. Apparently the Toronto duo are gearing up for a big tour, and the release of their new single on record store day on VINYL ONLY and will be limited to 500 copies worldwide. I have a feeling there will be more than one at each store, which makes it unlikely it will make it all the way over to Alberta for me to get my dirty mitts on. Someone will rip it and it will be all over the blogs within hours, so don’t be too worried. I’ll leave you with the tunes because I am a hungover, over-sexed lord of the dance.
