The latest remix from PSYMBIONIC is a spicy, glitchy shuffle. The Beastie Boys’ classic “Intergalactic” is textured with basslines and a stuttered beat. Both the vocal and instrumental versions are offered free downloads. The drop at about the three-minute mark is particularly deadly – this one’s going on high rotation.

NAPT: NEW MIX

Some fire to get your weekend started. Here’s NAPT‘s latest mix recorded on Australia’s Triple J radio show last month. It’s available for the pilfering. What I want to know is when the colab with PEO DE PITTE, “Gonna Be Mine” will surface. This tune has been in countless of their mixes but hasn’t seen the light of day yet. Come on fellas. A minute ago I posted NAPT‘s latest remix / bootleg along with the video for the Bashy colaboration. Well, since they’re celebrating the forthcoming release, NAPT mashed BASHY‘s 2009 hit “Millionaire”, 2Pac’s “California Love” & Chromeo’s “Needy Girl” into a finely crafted piece of N-Funk. The single is now available for pre-order and since everyone is going to have this track, you might as well get on it.

The file came untitled so you’ll I took the liberty of creating one.

Here’s a bit of a rushed mix I did for THE SHAKE, a weekly radio show LOTEK and I do every Friday night on KICK FM. Lotek and I are both out of town this week, hence the mix. It starts off with a bunch of robotdisco jams and gets into some house-flavoured breaks and ends with nu disco and tech house.

Don't Turn the Lights On

There’s a part of me that feels guilty for posting previous versions of the latest CHROMEO single, but let’s forget that shall we?

CHRISTIAN MARTIN is one of my favourite producers. If you’re unfamiliar with him, I’d say you better educate yourself with him and others in the San Francisco bass crew under DIRTY BIRD RECORDS. (Incidentally, a great place to start with the Dirty Bird education is the “Five Years of Dirtybird” compilation.) The label is responsible for some of the best house music on the planet and like this remix, it’s always deep and rich and meant for dim spaces. Indeed, don’t turn the lights on.

Could there be a better marriage of robotdisco lovers? AEROPLANE adds some swank to the already oversexified Chromeo single.

It’s been a few minutes (years actually) since CHROMEO released their last long player. “Fancy Footwork” was full of nu disco kitch and it sounds as though P-Thugg and Dave1 haven’t abandoned their roots entirely. “Business Casual” however, is slightly more serious. Oh, and if you missed it, here’s another one you’ll love courtesy of MIDNIGHT CONSPIRACY, which is by far the best remix of this tune to date.
